It is essential to pick the right shadow palette for your eye colour. After you’re done picking up the shade, you need to determine how to use all the range of the colour on your lid. This is all you need to be aware of when applying eyeshadow. The very first and important step to a perfect eyeshadow: always sweep a primer over your lid before making use of eyeshadow. This will help keep your eyeshadow last all day long.

Follow these steps for the proper way to apply eyeshadow:

1. All palettes of eyeshadows come in multiple shades of colours. It’s always better to use a neutral colour, not too dark, not too light. Sweep the colour to the crease over the entire lid. You can get a darker eyeshadow for a more spectacular look, but is not a popular choice for those with light skin and eyes. Additionally, shimmer can be added on, for an evening look.

2. For the subsequent step, mix a darker shade into your crease, starting from the interior of the eye with a thinner line developing thicker as it extends to the end of the crease. Make certain the shading on the lids is blended well. If you have a 3-colour palette, choose the darkest colour first. If you have a 4-colour palette, select the third darkest. If you are not using a palette, use a colour that is in the same shade range as your neutral colour.

3. If you feel that your eyes nonetheless need more colour to elevate your look, you can take the lightest shade in your palette and mix it in just above your crease. Try to maintain the colour of the brow bone using brighter hues to make your look better. Stay away from dark colours.

4. Lastly, press your pinkie finger into the palette’s lightest colour and then swipe it across the interior corner of your eye. This is the secret of the make-up artists for making eyes appear wider. Just follow these simple guidelines when applying eyeshadow and you will go from being an amateur to a pro.
