Fitness Tips: Indoor exercises that you can do to stay healthy and fit

Fitness tips: The cold weather can hold you back from stepping out and exercising. Here are easy-to-do indoor exercises that can help your health in check

If you can't find time to hit the gym because of work timings or other such issues, that does not mean you skip your workouts. Despite your busy schedule, you can perform some workouts at any time of the day which is convenient for you. Here are a few ways that don't require equipments to do exercise and some tips that can help you exercise in the comfort of your home. Use any fitness app to check your form and number of repetitions.

1. Planks

Planks is an exercise that strengthens the core. Go on all your fours and fold your arms at the elbow. Then try moving your core downwards. When your core reached a point where it looks like an inclined plank, hold the position and take deep breathes. Time your plank. Make sure that you have your form right. 

2. Push-ups

Another indoor exercise that will help you strengthen your core is push-ups. For beginners, it is advised that you start this fitness workout on your knees. Strengthen your shoulders and core muscles to lift your body up and down. You can start with sets. Start with 5 repetitions in one set and gradually increase.

3. Crunches

Crunches are one of the best indoor exercises for the core. They are easy to do and will help build your core. Lie down on your back and fold your legs. Take help of your arms by putting them at the back of your head and bring your upper body to chest. You can do this in sets just like other indoor exercises.

4. Jumping jacks

Jumping Jacks is one of the best warm-up exercise that you can indulge in your fitness regimen. Stand straight with your feet apart. With a jump, move your legs apart at the same time and put your hands up. Bring your hands down and legs back to position. Repeat this several times and you will feel flexible. Doing this on a daily basis will help you keep your health in check.

5. Lunges

This is one of the most favourite indoor exercises that many opt for. Stand straight with your legs slightly wider. Place your hands on your hips. Place one of your knees forward in a bent position and place the other leg behind. Repeat it with both sides. This will help you build your legs.
