Sinus causes inflammation, headache along with pain in several facial muscles like your teeth, jaws, and sides of your nose. Green Tea/Herbal Tea: Green tea is known for its healthy nutritional properties, which helps you in flushing out all the unwanted toxins from your body, without much hassle. Herbal tea, on the other hand, is generally made up of ginger, pepper, honey, etc., and all these ingredients are very good to soothe one's sinus to a great extent.

Green Vegetables: They are a rich source of calcium and vitamins, and their consumption can aid to diminish the intensity of sinus. One can opt for leafy green vegetables along with beans, broccoli and asparagus to prevent runny nose and headache. However, to achieve maximum health benefits, it is important to consume green vegetables on a regular basis and not a monthly or a weekly basis.

Milk and turmeric: Turmeric is a magical ingredient which has great medicinal properties. All you need to do is add half a teaspoon to one glass of hot milk, mix it well and drink. Just make sure to drink it on a daily basis, as it helps in averting flu and inflammations, thus preventing sinus in a major way.

Food items to avoid if you are suffering from sinus:

Excessive sugar intake: Intake of too much sugar is not good for your body. It leads to several other diseases like obesity, diabetes, and aggravates sinus as well. Try to avoid aerated drinks as they have a high amount of sugar in them.

Bananas: They are a rich source of good carbohydrates, and doctors recommend it to lead a healthy life. But in case of sinus patients, the case is totally opposite as they further magnify the problem of flu and inflammation leading to a bad sinus condition. Thus one shouldn't eat bananas when suffering from sinus.

Yoghurt: When suffering from sinus, yoghurt or curd, should be wholly eliminated from your diet as it multiplies the inflammation effect, headache and flu in a massive way. Hence curd in any form should be avoided if you’re suffering from sinus.
