Chapped lips can be a never-ending problem during winters. To maintain soft, luscious lips, one can make lip balms at home with some simple steps. Protect your sensitive lips with some natural products. These products can keep your lips moist and luscious for a long time and there are no fears of chemicals harming your lips.

Coconut flavoured lip balm

According to reports in health journals, coconut is an excellent moisturiser. By using one tablespoon of beeswax and one tablespoon of coconut oil, you can make this moisturising balm. Use a small pan to heat everything together over a low flame. Add ten to twelve drops of organic honey to the mixture. Optional vitamin oils can also be added. Heat it for ten minutes. Once it is blended together, transfer the liquid mix to a balm container. Keep it aside to cool down. Use the DIY lip balm once the mixture solidifies.

Raspberry-lemon lip balm

Mix a small amount of raspberry powder with gelatin in a pan with heated up coconut oil. Two teaspoons of each ingredient should suffice. Blend the liquid well and, after that, heat it again in a microwave for six minutes. Add lemon essential oil to the completed mix. After the above process, pour the mixture in a balm container and refrigerate the DIY balm until it solidifies.

Essential oil balm

Melt the beeswax indirectly in a double boiler. Add cocoa butter to the melting wax. After that add any essential oil of your choice to the mix. Add a tad bit of natural colour to accentuate the final colour. Carefully stir the mixture until there are no lumps seen and the mixture is even. Pour it into a lip balm container and let it cool off. Apply it once it is set.
