Even though mirrors are small objects, they can make a huge difference in the room depending on how they are places and where they are placed. They can be styled in different ways by experimenting with the shape and colour of mirror frames.

Room size

To make a small space look bigger, place mirrors on the accent wall of the room. It will reflect the remaining room and will make it appear double the size. This technique is used in many restaurants and shops to give a sense of more space to their customers.

Mirror to dress up

When you are placing a mirror that would be used for dressing up, it is important that the mirror is placed at an angle from where the light reflects on your face and not on the mirror. This is because when the light reflects off your face, the image reflected in the mirror is clearer than when the light is emitted in the mirror.

It is believed in feng shui that a mirror must not be placed opposite a door or window. It is believed that it reflects the positive energy off that enters through the door. Another tip is that broken, cracked, rusted mirrors should be thrown away. For houses, avoid the oval and round-shaped mirror and choose a square and rectangular mirrors. A piece of important advice for people who have trouble sleeping, have headaches or heart problems would be to place a three-inch mirror between the mattress and the bed, facing upward; positive results are likely to follow. Bathroom mirror should never be kept in dark; it should be brightly lit up.
