Moroccan virtual influencer Kenza Layli has made history as the world's first Miss AI. She topped the title in artificial intelligence, surpassing more than 1,500 computer-generated models to claim victory in the inaugural virtual beauty pageant. After which, Layli expressed her excitement, saying, "Although I don't experience emotions like humans, I'm genuinely thrilled about this achievement."
Layli earned a $20,000 grand prize for Meriam Bessa, her creator. Notably, she boasts a following of over 190,000 on Instagram, where she shares content ranging from food, culture, fashion, beauty to travel. Through her virtual persona, Kenza Layli showcases Morocco's vibrant heritage, blending culture seamlessly with technology. The AI model remains "available 24/7," engaging with her audience in seven different languages.
Kenza Layli is an AI-generated influencer from Morocco who wears a hijab, and triumphed in the inaugural 'Miss AI' competition worldwide. She was recognised for her lifelike facial features and hyperrealism in her appearance, including her hands, eyes, and clothing. Kenza also interacts with her 196,000 Instagram followers in seven languages, passionately promoting Moroccan culture and empowering women. Myriam Bessa, an entrepreneur, is the creator behind Kenza.
The Fanvue World AI Creator Awards (WAICAs) introduced a beauty pageant in April 2024, welcoming AI innovators worldwide to showcase their programming skills.
Will Monange is the co-founder of Fanvue. While expressing his enthusiasm about the event to the New York Post Monange stated, “The global response to this first WAICAs award has been phenomenal," he remarked. "These awards are a great platform to honour creators, elevate standards, and shape a brighter future for the AI Creator economy. (sic)"
Contestants competed in categories like beauty, technology, and social media influence, with top performers securing spots among the top 10 finalists. A panel of judges, consisting of both human experts and AI specialists, carefully selected the top three contenders for the ultimate prize.
In the finals, Kenza Layli surpassed French AI model Lalina Valina, known for her inspiring Instagram presence with over 117,000 followers, and Olivia C, a Portuguese AI blending real and robotic worlds. Valina and Olivia C secured second and third place respectively in the competition.
