Tourists can avail the visa at any of the 32 immigration checkpoints available in Thailand. The service may take from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the tourist traffic. There are certain documents which you are required for availing free Thailand visa on arrival-

  • A passport with at least 6 months validity
  • Airline boarding pass
  • Filled visa application form
  • Confirmed airline ticket showing the departure from Thailand
  • Updates passport size photograph
  • Filled arrival-departure card
  • Proof of funds for the living expenses in Thailand

In order to boost tourism, Thailand's cabinet recently approved free Thailand visa on arrival. The tropical island has recently seen a slump in its tourism industry, so this measure will definitely attract many people. As per the new measure, travellers from 21 countries will not pay the visa fee between December 01 and January 31. The countries including in this measure are India, China, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Andora, Bulgaria, Bhutan, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Romania, San Marino, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
