West Bengal has several beautiful and stunning locations to visit. However, West Bengal is a vast and varied destination and one cannot see everything the state has to offer in one visit. So here are a few great locations to visit in north Bengal specifically. North Bengal is full of natural beauty that is worth seeing.

Darjeeling

Darjeeling is one of the most popular tourist locations in India and is perhaps the most famous hill station in the country. Darjeeling lies at the lower elevation of the Himalayas and is known for its tea and its amazing views, including the view of  Kangchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain. The food, as well as the scenic beauty of the location, makes it one of the most visited tourist destinations in India. In fact, according to a survey conducted, Darjeeling is the third most googled destination among tourists in India.

Siliguri

Siliguri is a metropolitan city that lies in the foothills of the Himalayas. The city is one of the major locations to visit in northern Bengal. The area has a large number of tourist attractions that are worth visiting. Some of the most popular tourist destinations include the Coronation Bridge, Bengal Safari Park, the Gajoldoba viewpoint and the heritage toy train. The city is also not far away from Darjeeling, so one can plan to visit both locations in a single trip. Bagdogra, a town which is part of the greater Siliguri area, is also nearby and is a beautiful location which is famous for its tea estates.

Dooars

The Dooars is another location full of scenic beauty that any lover of nature should visit. Dooars too has several tea estates, however, those are not its major attractions. The Dooars is most well known for its dense jungles and free-roaming wildlife that add to the serene beauty of the location. Several wildlife sanctuaries and national parks exist in this location. The forests of Dooars also boasts varied wildlife and many of the species that exist there are endangered. Animals like tigers, rhinoceros and elephants mark the forests of Dooars as their home.
