Less than a month after BJP's 2014 poll strategist Prashant Kishor made his entry into politics, he has already risen to the topmost ranks. Having then confirmed joining Nitish Kumar's Janta Dal (United), he was on Wednesday appointed as the national Vice-President of the party.

The elevation sees him become the second most powerful leader in the JD(U) after Nitish Kumar himself. But it doesn't come much as a surprise, given the day he joined the party, Nitish Kumar had heaped praise on him, and stated that 'he is the future'. One of the important task of Kishor will be to strengthen the party cadre, especially in the youth side.

Soon after being appointed as the Vice-President, Prashant Kishor took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the party and its members. HIs message read, "I thank the party for entrusting me with such a responsibility. I am fully committed to the development model of Nitish Kumar in the state."

Kishor is termed as an election strategist, given he was the man behind BJP's success in the General elections 2014. He then planned the election strategy of the original 'Mahagathbandhan', which comprised of JDU, RJD and Congress, helping them defeat BJP in the Bihar state elections 2015.

Speaking about Kishor becoming the Vice-President, party spokesperson KC Tyagi said, "He will help the party chart a new course outside the traditional methods of socialist politics."

His popular ideas in BJP's successful campaign in 2014 was the famous 'Chai pe charcha'. Then there was also Modi's 3D speech at every corner, as well as the promotion of brand Modi across the country.

The decision to elevate Prashant Kishor has established the faith that Nithish Kumar has in him in galvanising the party cadre, especially the youth. Further, his elevation in the party will also mean he will be the man entrusted to hold negotiations with BJP and NDA partners pertaining to the seat sharing for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections and 2020 state elections.

Kishor is also considered a close friend of Modi, having worked with him closely before the latter became the PM. What can be said about Prashant is that he is sharp and has incisive political brain.
