'Tytler Played Gandhi Family Card, Got Himself A Clean Chit', Writes Shiromani Akali Dal's Manjinder Singh Sirsa

Jagdish Tytler is one of the main accused Congress leaders who owing to his closeness with Gandhi family ditched judicial course of action in the context of his alleged involvement in 1984 Sikh Genocide cases. In fact, the Nanavati Commission report which was tabled in Parliament clearly pointed a finger at Jagdish Tytler, Sajjan Kumar, and HKL Bhagat.

He played his Gandhi Family card then and got himself a clean chit from CBI. Despite being named in inquiries and commissions, Tytler has enjoyed political patronage from Congress and even remained a minister in the Congress-led UPA government.

Adding insult to the injury is the self-confession by Tytler himself in an interview given last year where he shared on National TV that he had escorted Rajiv Gandhi (breaking all protocols) on the night of genocide days and shown him the bodies of innocent Sikhs killed by Congress goons.

All this was said by him on TV - with the intention to drop a hint to the Gandhi family that if I am caught, your turn will come next. So, Gandhi Family has been protecting him and even showing their support for him by keeping him at the forefront.

Today, Congress made Jagdish Tytler sit in the front row at an event where Sheila Dikshit took over as its Delhi unit president to "intimidate" witnesses in related cases.
The message is clear - Congress reflects its support to Tytler and gives a signal to witnesses of 1984 Sikh genocide cases to back off. Congress is frustrated after Sajjan Kumar’s conviction and resorting to such petty ways to scare the witnesses.

Giving people like Tytler such importance is also an insult to the judiciary which has clearly spoken against the “political patronage “ protecting the culprits of genocide for 34 years, as observed by the High Court in recent Sajjan Kumar verdict also.
