‘It’s Gorgeous’: Jared Isaacman As He Stepped Out Of Capsule On Historic Spacewalk
Isaacman and his team ventured outside the Dragon spacecraft, marking a significant achievement in space exploration.
Polaris Dawn spacewalk: Tech entrepreneur Jared Isaacman and his crew achieved a historic milestone by completing the world’s first private spacewalk on Thursday. Leading the mission as non-professional astronauts, Isaacman and his team ventured outside the Dragon spacecraft, marking a significant achievement in space exploration.
Teaming up with SpaceX, Isacman’s crew embarked on this daring mission hundreds of miles above Earth.
As they floated in the vast space, Isaacman calmly took in the view, and remarked, “It’s gorgeous. Back at home, we still have a lot of work to do, but from here, it looks like a perfect world.”
With pre-breathing and cabin venting complete, Isaacman opened the adapted capsule hatch.
Cheers erupted from mission control at Cape Canaveral as Isaacman, the billionaire funder and mission commander, began his exit. Using handrails to navigate the narrow hatch, he was tethered to the spacecraft by an umbilical hose providing power, communication, and pure oxygen.
Isaacman had 13 minutes to conduct mobility tests, all against the breathtaking backdrop of Earth.
After successfully completing his tasks, he returned to the capsule. Next, Sarah Gillis prepared to exit and perform similar mobility tests.
