Indian star shuttler and Olympic silver medallist P V Sindhu displayed the epitome of her skills and form as she entered the finals of the Indonesia Open BWF Tour Super 1000 tournament winning against Chen Yufei of China with a straight-game win on Saturday, 20 July.
Sindhu who has been struggling this season, regained her brilliance as she crushed her opponent world no 3 Chen 21-19 21-10 to enter her first final of the season. The World no 5 Sindhu, who reached the semifinals at Singapore and India Open this year, thus set up a summit clash with Japan's fourth seed Akane Yamaguchi.
Head to head Sindhu holds a 10-4 advantage over Yamaguchi, whom she has defeated in the last four encounters. Chen looked solid in the first game but a valiant Sindhu fought back to clinch two straight games to seal a berth in the finals.
The match started with a long rally but soon Sindhu fell behind at 4-7. The Indian then reeled off five straight points and the never looked back and she went on to win the match.

The Indian shuttler will be looking to break the duck of titles this year in the prestigious Super 1000 event in Jakarta. Sindhu has not yet won a single title this season and by her own standards, this has been a very average year so far. With reaching the finals she is a step closer to change her fate around. With the 2020 Tokyo Olympics drawing closer, Sindhu will look to up her game and nothing will be better than a title in Indonesia.
