Saina Nehwal's father allegedly not allowed to enter CWG Village in Australia; ace shuttler expresses her anger

Ace Indian shuttler and former world No. 1 Saina Nehwal has expressed her anger over her father's name allegedly being cut from the Officials list of the Commonwealth Games in Australia's Gold Coast, which will begin on Wednesday.

Ace Indian shuttler and former world No. 1 Saina Nehwal has issued a set of tweets expressing her anger over her father's name allegedly being cut from the Officials list of the Commonwealth Games in Australia's Gold Coast, which will begin on Wednesday.

Taking to the social media website, Saina, who won the gold medal at the 2010 edition of the games in New Delhi, has written:

"Surprise to see that when we started from India for commonwealth games 2018 my father was confirmed as the team official and I paid the whole amount for that but when we came to the games village ... his name was cut from team official category .. and he can’t even stay with me."

In her next tweet, she's tagged the Commonwealth Games Federation:

"He can’t c my matches and he can’t enter the village nor he can meet me in anyway .. what kind of support is this ..@thecgf"

She's then expressed that she should have been informed in advance:

"I wanted his support as I regularly take him for my competitions ...but i didn’t understand why nobody informed me all this earlier .. that he can’t enter anywhere #CommonwealthGames2018"

Earlier, Nehwal had posted a picture with her parents, mother Vijaya Pusarla and father Harvir Singh.

India's contingent for the 2018 CWG comprises 326 persons, of which 218 are athletes.
