Tai beats Marin in three games in All England Open Championships semi-final

Second seed Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan defeated Spain's Carolina Marin in three games - 19-21, 21-13, 21-11, to reach the women's singles final at the All England Open Championships in Birmingham on Saturday.

Second seed Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan defeated Spain's Carolina Marin in three games - 19-21, 21-13, 21-11, to reach the women's singles final at the All England Open Championships in Birmingham on Saturday. In the final, Tai will meet first seed Chen Yu Fei of China.

In the mixed doubles, fifth-seeded duo Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti defeated unseeded English pair Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith in a three games thriller - 21-15, 21-23, 21-11, to book a final match against Thailand's Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai.

In the evening session, there was glory for Japan as well, with sixth-seeded Hiroyuki Endo and Yuta Watanabe coming on top of Russia's Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov 21-16, 21-15 in the men's doubles semi-final.
