Carmelo Anthony reveals why he chose the jersey no. 00
Carmelo Anthony chose a new jersey number '00' for playing with the Portland Trail Blazers because it resembles the sign for infinity and cannot be quantified.

Carmelo Anthony made his debut with the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, November 19, against the New Orleans Pelicans. He finished the game with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 1 block. Before his debut, Anthony revealed that he will be wearing a jersey with a new number – 00.

Anthony explained to fans via Instagram as to why he chose the number. He said that the number resembles the sign for infinity, and it cannot be quantified or counted. He also referred to God, and 'Alpha and Omega', while talking about the chance to start anew and leaving the past behind. Anthony wore No. 7 while playing with Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. At the end, he added that he will forever be a 7 and added the hashtags '007' and 'StayMe7o'. Anthony has a career average of 24 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3 assists.
