University of Oregon teammates star Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally were chosen No. 1 and No. 2 overall in the 2020 WNBA draft on Friday.

With sports on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic, the draft Friday took place with players in their own homes instead of a central location and WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert announcing the selections from her home in New Jersey, holding up the shirt of the player being chosen.

The league also honored Alyssa Altobelli, Payton Chester and Gianna Bryant, the daughter of the late NBA star Kobe Bryant, before the start of the draft.

The teenagers were players at Bryant's Mamba Sports Academy basketball school and were among nine people including Kobe Bryant who died in a helicopter crash on January 26th.
