The first couple of days of the second Test between England and India saw very little of cricketing action, and more of rain. On Day One, not even a single ball was bowled as showers took centre stage and ruined the moment for the fans. And on the second day, only 35.2 overs of action was witnessed as rain played spoilsport.

During the two days, the individuals who had most work to do were the ground staff at Lord's. It was of their hard work that some play was possible on Day Two.

But now, it seems they had received a helping hand from someone special. Arjun Tendulkar, who trains with MCC, helped out the Lord's support staff in their quest to make the condition's playable. His effort was acknowledged by the Twitter team of Lord's. They posted a message, which read, "Arjun Tendulkar! Not only has he been training with @MCCYC4L recently & but he has also been lending a helping hand to our Groundstaff!#ENGvIND#LoveLords"

During the 35.2 overs contest between the Indian batsmen and England bowlers, the latter were all over the former. The hosts bowled out India for a mere 107 in conditions which seemed too good for Virat Kohli and co.

Having won the toss, England skipper Joe Root decided to bowl first in overcast conditions. It was a pretty straightforward decision, given the hosts had included another fast-bowler in Chris Woakes. On the other side, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was disappointed having lost the toss, and knew a tough challenge awaited the visitors.

The first phase of cricket action saw only 6.3 overs bowled. But in that short span, England opening bowlers wrecked havoc. With the new ball and conditions favoring swing, James Anderson was all over the Indian batters. In the very first over, he dismissed Murali Vijay off a beauty. And England's leading wicket-taker got another two balls before the rain interception, when he got KL Rahul edging a swinging delivery to Jonny Bairstow.

After a two hour break, play resumed, and this time it lasted for less than two overs. But within this time span, calamity struck India. Cheteshwar Pujara, making a return to playing XI, was run-out after a mix-up with Kohli. The dismissal came on the stroke of another rain intervention, which was to last in excess of three hours.

In the final phase of the day, India lost wickets in regular intervals, and fell like a pack of cards. They were bowled out for a mere 107, giving England with a brilliant chance to make it 2-0 in the series.
