IIT graduate arrested over rape threats to Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's daughter

The Mumbai Police's cyber cell has arrested a 23-year-old man from Hyderabad in Telangana for issuing rape threats to the daughter of Virat Kolhi and Anushka Sharma, Vamika Kohli, following Team India's loss to Pakistan at the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. The man who has been identified as Ramnagesh Akubhatini is a graduate of the Indian Institue of Technology (IIT) in Hyderabad and was said to be working as a software engineer.

He was arrested by a special team of the Mumbai Police on Wednesday, November 10, and will be taken to Mumbai for further action. The IIT graduate threatened the 10-month-old daughter of Virat and Anushka because India lost the match to Pakistan. A report has been filed against Ramnagesh by the cyber cell on behalf of Kohli on Monday, November 8 after an initial investigation. 

Word from Hyderabad Police

Speaking to TNM, Indrakaran police station Sub Inspector Rajesh Naik said, "We were informed that a team is coming from Mumbai to pick someone up from our jurisdiction. One person from our team accompanied the Mumbai team and picked up the youth. They have not revealed too much information about the case. His father has accompanied him to Mumbai."
