The social media has been left aghast ever since it was revealed that former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was dropped from the squad for his team's upcoming T20I series against West Indies and Australia.

Dhoni, who has only missed 11 T20I matches ever since India made its debut in the format, has been overlooked in the favor of young and dynamic Rishabh Pant and veteran Dinesh Karthik.

'Mahi's' fans on Twitter have vented out their anger on the selectors following their decision to exclude Dhoni. Here's what they have been saying:

Speaking about the selection of the squad for the upcoming T20I series, chief selector MSK Prasad said, "The T20Is here and in Australia, he [Dhoni] is not going to play, because we are also looking at a second wicketkeeper. That will be between Rishabh and Dinesh Karthik. So they will be getting a chance to keep and bat."

For the T20Is against West Indies, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been rested, with Rohit Sharma to deputize as captain in his place. There is a place in the squad for left-arm off spinner Shabaz Nadeem, Krunal Pandya and Washington Sundar. India and West Indies will take on each other in three T20Is starting November 4.
