Kohli had come into bat in the very first over after opener Shikhar Dhawan was trapped in front of the wicket by pacer Sheldon Cotterell off the third delivery. The Indian skipper then stabilised the innings with his deputy Rohit Sharma.
After Rohit's dismissal, he was involved in a small partnership with Rishabh Pant. However, he got much-needed support from Shreyas Iyer as the Indian skipper continued to carry on his magnificent run. It bore fruits as Virat scored a fantastic century. This was also his 42nd ton in ODI's.
