After winning the title back in 2008, Rajasthan Royals have failed to become title contenders. After coming back in 2018 post their ban, Rajasthan Royals have invested money on buying big players. They made it to the playoffs in the 2018 season but once failed to make it to the final stage. In 2019, they did manage to have the services of Steve Smith, but the team almost finished last after failing to win matches due to lack of overseas star power in their lineup. This year the Rajasthan Royals did manage to make some good signings during the auction. With England pacer Jofra Archer not playing IPL due to injury, Royals will be hoping to once again challenge for the title under the leadership of Steve Smith.
