All-rounder Mitchell Marsh was a rare bright spot for Australia in their recent short tours to the West Indies and Bangladesh as tune-up to the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

Marsh scored 375 runs including four half-centuries and adding eight wickets at 13.62.

The 29-year-old right hander looks to have sealed number three spot in the batting order - ahead of senior pros like Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis and Glen Maxwell.

Marsh said a conversation with leg spinner Adam Zampa is what sparked the change in his batting, where he also rediscovered his big-hitting prowess.

The Western Australian is set to mark ten years in international cricket this year, though yet to be considered a regular in the Australian squad. The recent rich vein of form may just change that for Marsh, who is looking to use the white-ball scores to push for a place in the Ashes squad later this year.
