Netizens rejoice as Rohit slams his 3rd hundred against the Proteas

Rohit Sharma continued on his merry way as he slammed his 3rd hundred of the ongoing series against the Proteas in Ranchi. The India opener started cautiously but put the pressure on South Africa bowlers in the 2nd session by taking the attack to them.

Former Cricketer Mohammad Kaif was the first from the cricket fraternity to congratulate the star opener.

With his third ton, Rohit Sharma became only the 2nd Indian opener to score three or more hundred in a Test series. The only other Indian opener to do so was Sunil Gavaskar. Netizens lauded the stellar performance by Rohit Sharma.

100 run partnership between Rahane and Rohit

Indian middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane also brought up his 21st half-century and fueled India's inning. Having lost opener Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli early in the first session, Rohit Sharma along with Ajinkya Rahane steadies the innings for India. The 150 run partnership between the two fuels the score forward as India crosses the 200 mark after lunch.
