"Never felt the need for you to justify": Sachin Tendulkar responds to Sourav Ganguly's clarification over reports of difference in opinion on Pakistan World Cup boycott

Amid the call to boycott Pakistan ahead of India vs Pakistan match in the World Cup 2019 in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred in a suicide bombing led by Pak-backed JeM terrorist, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly gave statements in the matter. However, debate broke over their stand on the demand for India to boycott Pakistan in the World Cup. 

Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly on Saturday responded to teammate Sachin Tendulkar’s comment that India should not sacrifice two points in the World Cup by not playing against Pakistan.

Sachin Tendulkar on Friday had said that he would "hate" to see India concede two points to Pakistan by not playing them in the upcoming World Cup as such a move would only help the arch-rivals in the mega-event. 

Reacting to Sachin Tendulkar's comment, former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Saturday said he would rather want the World Cup and not worry about losing two points, as per reports.

Responding to misleading media reports on his comments being against Sachin Tendulkar's remarks in the matter, Sourav Ganguly on Sunday tweeted to say that his statement has nothing to with Tendulkar's statement. He also added that 'Sachin Tendulkar has been and will be one of his best friends for the last 25 years'. 

The Master Blaster on Sunday replied to Sourav Ganguly’s tweet by saying that 'everyone wants the best for India' and he 'never felt the need for Ganguly to justify any comments'.

Meanwhile, there's yet not any clarification on whether India will boycott the World Cup clash against Pakistan which is scheduled to take place on June 16 at Old Trafford in Manchester.
