Oppo spin-off brand Realme has left quite an impression on the Indian market – and now it is looking to enter China. Although Realme hasn’t revealed any smartphone plans for China yet, it is kicking off proceedings with a theme song highlighting its target audience – the youth. The theme song video features a mysterious Realme smartphone with a pop-up or elevating selfie camera – a first for Realme. This could well be Realme’s first smartphone to launch in China.

The teaser doesn’t reveal much apart from design but it’s enough information to corroborate a recent TENAA listing that hinted at a Realme smartphone with model number RMX1901 having an all-screen and no-notch design – understandably, with a pop-up selfie camera. The TENAA listing had also confirmed dual rear cameras although their resolution remains a mystery for now.

The name of the phone in question could be the Realme X as Realme CMO Xu Qi has also started teasing the smartphone on Weibo – a recent post by the Realme CMO clearly mentions the name Realme X, its main USP being its full-screen design.

Realme is also expected to launch the Realme 3 Pro in China in the days to come. The Realme 3 Pro was recently launched in India to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Realme has launched the Realme 3 Pro in India at a starting price of Rs 13,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, going all the way to Rs 16,999 for the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

For the price you get a 6.3-inch 1080p+ IPS LCD display with a teardrop/waterdrop-style notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage which is expandable, and a sizeable 4,045mAh battery with a segment first VOOC 3.0 flash charge. The Realme 3 Pro has a dual rear camera system on the rear consisting of a 16MP (Sony IMX 519) sensor with f/1.7 aperture and another 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Realme 3 Pro comes with a 25MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

It isn’t known if Realme will launch the same version of the Realme 3 Pro in China.
