In the inaugural fixture of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni proved the world yet again as to why he is called the best when it comes to using the DRS.

The three-time IPL winning skipper was on the mark as he recorded yet another DRS success to his name.

In the first ball of the 12th over, Imran Tahir bowled a googly to Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) Navdeep Saini, which the batsman failed to read. The ball struck his pad before being caught at the slip by Shane Watson. Tahir, along with others around him appealed in an enthusiastic fashion, but the umpire ruled it not out.

Dhoni, standing behind the stumps, had a chat with Tahir, and with 15 seconds of DRS time almost complete, chose to review the decision.

The replays showed that there was a tiny inside edge, and hence, the lbw was out of the picture. But given Watson had held the catch, Saini was forced to go back to the pavilion for the catch.

In terms of the match RCB, having been put into bat by Dhoni, were bowled out for a mere 70, with 17 balls to spare in the first innings of this edition. It was a complete mayhem at the Chepauk stadium, with CSK slow bowlers spinning their web around the RCB batters, who failed to judge the condition and lost their wickets in a cheap fashion.

Harbhajan Singh started Kohli and his team's downfall, dismissing the opposition skipper and the top order on his way to take 3 for 20 in his four overs. He got support from Imran Tahir, who finished with an astonishing 3 for 9 in his quota of overs. Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets, while Dwayne Bravo finished the innings with a wicket in his very first ball.

Chasing a paltry 71, CSK saw their opener Shane Watson get dismissed for a duck. Runs were hard to come by even for the hosts, but Ambati Rayudu held the ship steady, and alog with Suresh Raina first, and then Kedar Jadhav, took the team to a comfortable victory.
