WATCH: Indian bowler turns 360 degree before bowling his delivery, umpire calls 'dead ball'

It has become quite normal to watch batsmen bring new shots to their lockers in the recent times. Ever since the start of the 21st century, the game has shifted so much in the favor of batters that the bowlers have been left wondering what they can do.

Right from the ramp shot to reverse-sweep to helicopter shot, so many different ways to score have been invented. Yet, one which came and created the most buzz was the switch-hit. England's Kevin Pietersen was one of the first to play this shot, and it became instant hit across the world

But now, it seems, the bowlers are gaining a leaf out of the batters' book, and trying to implement new type of deliveries of their own. In the past, the likes of Paul Harris got spectators intrigued with his bowling style. Then there was Shivil Kaushik, who created mystery with his action in IPL. And who can forget the current pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah, whose awkward bowling style has become almost unplayable.

Now it seems, an Indian bowler is trying to bring his own innovative bowling style into the game. In a video shared by BCCI on their official website, a spin bowler could be seen turning 360 degree before delivering the ball.

The incident took place during the U-23 match between Uttar Pradesh and Bengal. Shiva Singh started his run-up, and was expected to deliver a normal delivery. But instead, after taking a couple of steps and before reaching his bowling stride, he turned himself completely before delivering the ball.

While the batsman who faced had no qualms, the umpire immediately ruled the delivery as 'dead ball', much to the surprise of the bowler and his team. The umpire then went onto explain the reason behind his decision.

Shiva Singh's action drew mixed responses on Twitter. Former Indian spinning great Bishan Singh Bedi hinted that he disapproved of the bowling action, calling the bowler's delivery as 'weirdo'.

Though, former England skipper and commentator Michael Vaughan believed it was an interesting bowling action, and backed for such innovations to take place.
