Al Ahly trained on Friday on the eve of their CAF Champions League quarter-finals first leg match at home against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Last season, the South African team inflicted on Al Ahly the worst defeat in their continental history, with a 5-1 win on aggregate at the same stage of the competition.

In addition to Al Ahly's faithful supporters seeking revenge for that defeat from last year, the club are chasing a record extending ninth CAF Champions League title, one that's eluding them since 2013.

Meanwhile, Sundowns who settled themselves as one of the continent's big guns in recent years after bagging their maiden Champions League title in 2016 are hoping for yet another shock in the premier club competition.
