Andrea Radrizzani says that a foreign takeover could help Leeds United

According to reports, Leeds United, owner, Radrizzani has affirmed Qatari Sports Investment (QSI) is keen on gaining a stake in the Championship club.

According to reports, Leeds United, owner, Radrizzani has confirmed Qatari Sports Investment (QSI) is keen on gaining a stake in the Championship club, in the wake of being connected with a potential takeover at Elland Road in 2019. Radrizzani says two separate ideas of foreign investment have been tabled and are being considered at present- one from a Leeds fan based out of the United States of America and the other from an owner of an unidentified Italian club.

A possible takeover by foreign entities

While talking to an international media outlet, Radrizzani, stated that he had been contacted by more than a dozen interested parties but he has narrowed down to the final three in order to ensure a smooth flow of things if a deal gets finalised.

The owner added that QSI has shared a cordial and good relationship with each other for a really long time. A second potential party is a man based in the US, who has supported Leeds United since he was a young kid who understood football. Radrizzani added that the third potential party may give Leeds a financial boost in order to a quality team that will have the potential to win the Championship and then competes in the Barclays Premier League. 

Andrea Radrizzani, bought Leeds United in the year 2017 by acquiring a 50% stake in the club after he bought the club from Italian entrepreneur, Massimo Cellino.

A fight to the finish line

He added that Leeds had the potential to compete against Premier League giants, Manchester City if the right investments were made. Andrea also said that his main goal was to bring back Leeds United's glory days. 

Presently, the championship club is at the 5th position in the table, winning a total of 6 matches, drawing two and losing three out of the total 11 matches they have played till now. They next host championship rival, Birmingham City in a league match to be played on October 19 at the Elland Road stadium.
