Reports suggest that Antoine Griezmann said that he knew it would be tough settling in Barcelona but it may have proved to be harder than thought. Barcelona will play at home against Inter Milan on October 2nd and are looking to up their chances in the Champions League as the last match had a goalless draw when they were up against Borussia Dortmund which had made for a modest start.

Greizmann has something to prove

As per reports, Greizmann has something to prove as he has a stable but rather uneventful past few months. He has had elevated moments than the stability Ernesto Valverde hoped for when the 120-million euro release clause was initiated last year. The manager of Barcelona at the start of the season had said that against Bilbao, Griezmann was not as involved as the team would have liked and is also up to the team to allow strikers to take active participation.

Greizmann had scored twice in the next match against Real Betis before throwing off the glitter off his head at Camp Nou and felt like as if he has made his big start and not just because of theatrics. However, since the past five LaLiga matches have only bought him one more goal and assist with a handful of rather dull displays have felt like the player is still finding his place, notwithstanding his spectacular performance in LaLiga for the past nine seasons.

Griezmann's thoughts

Reportedly when after last week's win over Villareal, Griezmann was asked about his start at Barcelona he said that its different type of football, a different position and that he knew that it was going to be difficult to adjust. But he feels that he is improving in every game and thats that. Three goals aren't bad and he can do better that he just arrived he stated. He said that he works for the team and if he can score or assist then it's even better. Griezmann has a reason to defend himself. He had joined the team at a time when after five games the team posted its lowest points in a 25-year record along with last years season-low of Liverpool still fresh not at least for team's manager whose future is not safe.

According to reports, he came as world's premium strikers but realised that his new club was chasing Neymar for summertime as if Brazillian can add something that he can not. There were repairs to be done with Barca fans and players too after Griezmann not only turned them away 12 months down before but also put them in a spot by announcing his decision in a documentary.
