Bayern Munich defeat Augsburg 5-3; go two points clear at the top of Bundesliga

Bayern Munich are now two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga after their 5-3 win over Augsburg - coupled with their closest rivals Borussia Dortmund being held 2-2 at Schalke.

An early shock for Bayern - Benjamin Pavard failing to clear, and Mergim Berisha making the most of the opportunity in just the 2nd minute.

Defender Pavard seemed much more effective in front of goal, scoring in the 19th and 35th minutes.

The contest looked over by half-time - Leroy Sane making it 4-1 in the 45th minute.

A Berisha penalty in the 60th minute reduced the deficit before Alphonso Davis made it 5-2 in the 74th.

Irvin Cardona's injury-time effort completed the scoreline.
