CAF President say Cameroon is a tasting ground Covid-19 measures

The 2020 African Nations Championship starts tomorrow in Yaounde, its inaugural match will pit Cameroon against Zimbabwe in Group A.

The 2020 African Nations Championship starts tomorrow in Yaounde, its inaugural match will pit Cameroon against Zimbabwe in Group A.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino will attend the opening ceremony in Cameroon, along with the interim president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Constant Omari and the Cameroonian Prime Minister.

In the press conference marking the start of the competition in Yaounde, the CAF praised Cameroon's efforts to prepare for this competition.

Fans have been allowed access to the games, however, stadium capacity has been reduced to 25% for the first rounds and 50% for the second as part of Covid-19 safety measures.

The matches will be played in Limbe for Pool D, Douala for Pool B and C, and Yaounde for Pool A.

On security issues for teams based in Limbe, Constant Omari said that Cameroon President Paul Biya has guaranteed the security of all participants in the competition, in this Anglophone region which has been plagued by attacks in recent years.
