Carabao Cup round three was a thriller and draws for the next round have been announced. Defending champions Manchester City will face Southampton and Manchester United will go up against Chelsea. Liverpool, on the other hand, will host Arsenal. Fans will witness interesting games when Everton face Watford and Aston Villa play Wolves in the fourth round of Carabao Cup. Matches are to be played in the week commencing October 28. The tournament's full schedule is also available on the official website.
Manchester United struggled to beat Rochdale on Wednesday night but managed to progress on penalties. Mason Greenwood scored the first goal for United, but it was not enough as 16-year-old Luke Matheson forced the match to go to the penalties by scoring an equaliser just before full time. Manchester United won the penalty shootout 5-3 thanks to a couple of great saves by Sergio Romero. Chelsea will be going up against United after a smashing victory against Grimsby at Stamford Bridge. The 7-1 win came because of a last-minute goal by star players Michy Batshuayi and Callum Hudson-Odoi, who played his first match after returning from a leg injury.
UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool, on the other hand, won against Milton Keynes Dons 0-2 as the hosts were not able to take to the ball off Jurgen Klopp's men. Liverpool's 17-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever scored the second goal for the away team. However, it was bad news for West Ham United fans as the team were knocked out of the Carabao Cup after losing 4-0 against Oxford United. The big win for Oxford puts them up against Sunderland in the next round of Carabao Cup.
