Carabao Cup: Round three of this season's Carabao Cup will take place on 25 September and 26 September with some fascinating fixtures set to take place.

The EFL Cup, also known as Carabao Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in English football. Organised by the English Football League (EFL), the cup is one of the major honours of the domestic football season. The competition begins every August and it features teams from the Premier League and the three divisions of the English Football League. The clubs indulge in a straight knockout format till the seventh round, with the semi-finals being played over two legs.

Premier League clubs join the competition in the second round and clubs which have qualified for the Champions League or Europa League in the third round respectively. The finals of the Carabao club are held at the Wembley Stadium and the winner of the competition is directly qualified for the season's Europa League. Round three of this year's Carabao Cup will begin from September 25, 2019, 12:15 am IST onwards.

Aston Villa won the first Carabao Cup which was held in 1961. The former titleholders Manchester City have won the cup thrice in the last five years. Liverpool (8) holds the record of winning the most Carabao Cups.
