We're just close to 12 weeks into the Premier League, but what a season it has been for Frank Lampard's Blues already. With the cloud of the transfer ban looming over Stamford Bridge and an army of loanees returning to the Chelsea squad prior to the season, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard had his task cut out for him when he was appointed as the manager of Chelsea. His returning loanees, however, have made an instant impact in the Premier League.

Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori have all shined for Chelsea this season. Tammy Abraham has scored just one goal fewer than Jamie Vardy so far this season, while Mason Mount has been among the assists more often than not. Fikayo Tomori has also put in assured displays in the heart of the Chelsea defence, so much so that the absences of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have hardly been felt. A thrilling comeback against Ajax in the Champions League means that Chelsea enter into this game on some excellent form. A win against Crystal Palace could see them move into third, with current third-place holders Leicester City scheduled to play Arsenal on Sunday, November 9.

It has been a good season for Roy Hodgson too, with the Eagles managing to keep hold of Wilfried Zaha this summer. The Ivorian pined for a move away from Selhurst Park in the summer, with Everton and Arsenal both keen on the Ivorian winger. However, Crystal Palace's high valuation of Zaha means that he will spend the 2019/20 season with Crystal Palace, at least till the January transfer window. Interestingly, Zaha is yet to score his first goal this season, and with N'Golo Kante expected to be back for Chelsea, his goal drought seems likely to continue this weekend. Meanwhile, Gary Cahill is a doubt to play against his former side, having picked up a knock during Crystal Palace's 2-0 defeat to Leicester City last weekend.
