Portugal will carry on their hunt to secure a spot for the Euro 2020 Championships when they will host Luxembourg in their fifth qualification match on Saturday. Cristiano Ronaldo’s side has earned eight points from the four games they have played so far and are currently second in the Group B points table. The team has shared the spoils with Ukraine and Serbia in their first two games. On the other hand, Luxembourg are ranked fourth with four points in five matches.

Managed by Fernando Santos, Portugal will enter the game on a positive note with two wins in their last two games. These included a comfortable 4-2 away win against Serbia and a 5-1 win over Lithuania thanks to Ronaldo’s hat-trick. Ukraine will host Lithuania on Saturday and it looks like the hosts will grab an easy win, which makes it a must-win game for Portugal. Portugal and Lithuania will meet each other for the 16th time on Saturday with the Portuguese side having an upper hand with a 13-1 head-to-head record.

Portugal vs Luxembourg: Team news

Ronaldo is expected to be paired up with Bernardo Silva and Joao Felix in the attack, while Bruno Fernandes, William Carvalho and Ruben Never will be placed in the midfield of three. Mario Rui, Danilo Pereira and Nelson Semedo are expected to be included in the starting XI as well.

Maurice Deville can lead Luxembourg's attack in the 4-5-2 formation alongside Aversion Rodrigues. Veteran Lars Krogh Gerson is also expected to start while teenager Leandro Barreiro can also make it to the line-up.
