The 2019 FIFA Football Awards took place in Milan, Italy on 23 September. Footballers around the voted to choose the World XI for the year. While megastars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo managed to keep their place in the yearly list, the awards night saw promising youngsters making their way into the dream-team. Let us take a look at the complete World XI for 2019.

Alisson Becker - Goalkeeper

Alisson, the 26-year-old Brazilian, found a place in the World XI as the go-to goalkeeper this year. He was also declared the Best Goalkeeper of the Year at the ceremony. He currently plays for 2018-19 Champions League winner Liverpool, and also plays for the Brazilian national side. 

Matthijs De Ligt - Defender

The 20-year-old Dutch youngster made his way into the top half, thanks to his no-nonsense defending. He currently plays for Serie A giants Juventus after moving from Ajax.

Marcelo Vieira - Left Back

The famed Brazilian managed to keep his position on the list. He currently plays for Real Madrid adding to both their defence and their attack. Marcelo also plays for the Brazilian national team.

Sergio Ramos - Centre Back

'Captain Fearless' of Real Madrid has kept his place on the World XI list. Ramos captains Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. He plays as an aggressive centre-back. 

Virgil van Dijk - Centre Back

The lanky Dutch superstar guided Liverpool to Champions League glory last season. He has been rock solid at the back for the Reds and Netherlands.

Frenkie de Jong - Midfielder

The 22-year-old Dutch youngster took everyone by surprise with his smooth style of play for Ajax. Barcelona lured him in the summer transfer window.

Eden Hazard - Forward

The Belgian superstar kept his place on the list from last year. The Belgian captain is considered one of the best players in the world. He currently is part of the Real Madrid squad after having been transferred from Chelsea for a massive amount.

Luka Modric - Midfielder

The 34-year-old Croatian was another player who kept his place in the World XI. He plays at Real Madrid along with captaining the Croatian team. He wears the Number 10 shirt.

Cristiano Ronaldo - Forward

Ronaldo, arguably one of the best players ever, kept his place in the World 11. Ronaldo continued his domination for Serie A giants Juventus.  

Kylian Mbappe - Forward

The 20-year-old goal-machine stayed in the World 11. Mbappe's fast-paced style and the ability to score from any angle make him one of the best strikers. 

Lionel Messi - Forward

The Men's Player of the Year, Lionel Messi, kept his place on the World 11. The 32-year-old captains the Argentinian side and Barcelona as well. Like his nemesis Ronaldo, Messi continued his exceptional form last season.
