Guardiola backs Sterling, confirms Steffen will start in goal for Man City v Chelsea

Pep Guardiola has backed Raheem Sterling to rediscover his form for Manchester City as the club prepares to take on Chelsea in their FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.

Sterling appears to have slipped behind the in-form Phil Foden in Guardiola's thinking and only made a brief appearance from the bench in City's win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday.

But Guardiola insisted on Friday the England forward is still very much a key player at the club.

The City manager also confirmed American goalkeeper Zack Steffen will start the semi-final against Chelsea.

Steffen has played in each of City's FA Cup games so far this season.
