Fans of bitter north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal were united in their condemnation of the European Super League on Monday.

Both clubs are part of the English Premier League's "Big Six" who have signed up to the proposed 20-team tournament, alongside European giants such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona.

The new format would guarantee both "Founder Clubs" more fixtures against Europe's elite teams, regardless of where they finish in the English Premier League, if they are still allowed to compete domestically.

Arsenal currently sit ninth in England's top flight, while Tottenham are seventh, both outside  the top four places which would traditionally grant them access to the UEFA Champions League.
