New kits and new faces for Odisha FC

Now, coming to the new faces part. Josep Gambou Balague has addressed the issue from his last season with the Delhi Dynamos, this time around. The Spaniard has signed I-League winning defender Gaurav Bora to shore up the centre of his defence. He is joined in the squad by 2018-19 ISL winner, Xisco Hernandez. Hernandez has shifted bases from Bengaluru to Bhubaneshwar, as he looks to guide Odisha FC to the league title in their first season in the ISL.

Surprisingly, Odisha FC have just two resident players in their team, with midfielder Shubham Sarangi and goalkeeper Ankit Bhyuan representing Odisha. Former Barcelona B player Diawandou Diagne and Argentine playmaker Martin Perez Guedes have also been signed by Gambou, in what seems like the final piece of his midfield. Spanish centre-back Carlos Javier Delgado has also been roped in to add more Spanish flavour to the side.

Last, but not the least, Gambou has also strengthened his striking options with the signing of Spanish striker Aridane Santana. Santana has arrived on loan from Spanish side Cultural Leonesa to provide options up front for Josep Gombau. Odisha FC are slated to play their first game in the ISL this season away to Jamshedpur FC on October 22. Their first home game at the Kalinga stadium will take place on November 24, when they play hosts to ATK.
