ISL: Mumbai City FC boss Jorge Costa urges team to avoid same mistakes

The Mumbai side is set to face FC Goa in their next ISL match, which is scheduled to take place at the Mumbai Football Arena. Here's what Jorge Costa said.

After losing their last match against Odisha FC, the Mumbaikars are set to face FC Goa in their next ISL match, which is scheduled to take place at the Mumbai Football Arena. Mumbai City FC are just one spot below Goa and if they win this match they will surpass ATK and Goa on the points table. However, their upcoming match is not going to be easy as their head coach Jorge Costa has revealed that his players have to shine in the first-half if they want to win the match.

Talking to the media at the pre-match press conference, Mumbai City FC’s head coach revealed that he watched the game played between Mumbai City FC and Odisha FC several times. He said that he came to the conclusion that with a little bit of work, his team can get a better result in the upcoming game. He revealed that to win the match a team has to shine in the first 45-minutes, but, in the previous match his team failed to do anything extraordinary before the half time. “We cannot repeat the same mistakes we made against Odisha,” said Jorge Costa.

Jorge Costa talks about FC Goa and the upcoming match

Talking about the last time his team faced the Gaurs, Costa said that the last game his team played against Goa was at their home where the Islanders defeated the Goans. He added that Goa will come to Mumbai Football Arena with almost the same team they defeated, but this is a different season and they would not take them lightly as this match means a lot for him and his players. He said that this team has to be focused, be 100% professional and will fight till the end to win all three points. He revealed that it’s his job to find the best 11 to play, the best way to play and to put his players to work, to fight and give everything to the club.
