After a year away from Colombia's national team, James Rodriguez is back and willing to show that he's committed to continue with the squad, as he is the first to arrive in Brazil ahead of the double round of South American World Cup Qualifiers.

Colombia currently hold the fourth position in the standings with 17 points, the same amount of Ecuador, in third, who have a better goal average.

Rodriguez' last appearance was in November 2020, when Los Cafeteros suffered a 1-6 loss against hosts Ecuador in Quito, costing the job of then-head coach Carlos Queiroz.

The 30-year old was expected to join Colombia in June, at the double round against Peru away in Lima and hosting Argentina in Barranquilla, but coach Reinaldo Rueda considered that he was not fit.

Colombia will play against Brazil on November 11th in Sao Paulo and hosts Paraguay in Barranquilla.

Brazil leads South America's World Cup Qualifiers with 31 points, followed by Argentina with 25.
