Japanese veteran Keisuke Honda scored on his debut for Botafogo in the Rio de Janeiro State Championship, amidst protests from the club for playing behind closed doors.

Botafogo players entered in the pitch to play against Bangu wearing protective masks to make people aware of the coronavirus pandemic and to protest against playing a match while several tournaments around the world have halted their activities.

Honda scored for Botafogo in the 28th minute but Bangu equalized in the 58th minute and the match ended 1-1.

There's an expectation that state federations will halt their tournaments this Monday, after the Brazil FA and CBF suspended the tournaments they organise, such as Copa do Brasil and Brazilian Women League.
