According to Italian media reports on Wednesday, Serie A giants Juventus are looking for a swap deal with Manchester United involving Mario Mandzukic and Paul Pogba. United had re-signed Pogba from Juventus in 2016. The Italian champions look to strengthen their midfield with Pogba as a possible target for the Bianconeri.

Pogba played four seasons in Turin and transformed himself into one of the best midfielders in the world playing alongside the likes of Andrea Pirlo. However, he returned to Old Trafford in a big-money deal, amounting upto £89million in 2016. But the move has been far from simple as the player did not get along with United’s former manager Jose Mourinho. After Mourinho’s departure, Pogba was believed to have settled well in the team, however, there have been frequent rumours linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.

On the other hand, Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic has also been out of favour with Juventus' new manager Maurizio Sarri. The player was rumoured to be interested in a transfer in the previous summer, however he went on to stay at Turin. It is now reported that Juventus have put a £5 million tag on the striker, with United interested in signing him. However, Juventus want United to include Paul Pogba in any possible deal.

United are interested in many other players

United have been linked with a host of other players such as Erling Haaland, Memphis Depay and Moussa Dembele. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will look to add more options in their attacking section, due to a misfiring attack, courtesy of the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan. Pogba has also been linked to Real Madrid this season with the return of Zinedine Zidane as the club’s manager. Zidane is said to be a huge admirer of Pogba and was seen meeting him in UAE during the international break.
