LaLiga: Player ratings from Barcelona's 5-1 win over Real Valladolid

A game at Camp Nou, a close to full-strength squad, an opportunity to go top of the table. The stage was set for Lionel Messi to treat the Barcelona fans to another typical Barcelona display, and the Argentine great did not disappoint. 

Real Valladolid visited Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium looking to climb up the LaLiga table. It would, however, always prove to be a tough task getting one over Barcelona at their home ground. Former Barcelona B goalkeeper Jordi Masi was in goal for the visitors. Teenager Ansu Fati started for the hosts in attack, alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. Arturo Vidal got a rare start for the hosts, as the combative midfielder started alongside Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong in midfield. The Chilean made just his second start of the season against Real Valladolid, with his only other start coming in Barcelona's 4-0 win over Sevilla earlier this month. Antoine Griezmann and Ivan Rakitic, meanwhile, had to make do with a place on the bench.

Barcelona took little time to get going as centre-back Clement Lenglet put the hosts ahead as early as the second minute. After what seemed like a game of unfortunate ping pong in the Real Valladolid box, the ball landed at the feet of Lenglet, who struck it cleanly. The ball took a deflection and went in off the post. 13 minutes later, the visitors equalised via Kiko's effort, as Marc-Andre ter Stegen could do little to keep the effort out. From then on, it was Barcelona dominating play all along, as Lionel Messi scored two goals and set up two more to see Barcelona emerge 5-1 winners in the game.
