Manchester City to not win UEFA Champions League says Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City will not win UEFA champions league this season if they do not become more detached in front of goal after the team's 2-0 Premier League win at Crystal Palace over the past weekend. Manchester City leads the league by scoring 29 goals this season which is 7 more than Liverpool and despite criticism Guardiola says he is pleased with the forwards.

Highlights of October 19 Match

Reports suggested that Gabriel Jesus and David Silva were on point as City were crowned winners ar Selhurst Park on October 19 allowing Guardiola's second-placed team to close the gap with the Liverpool to 6 points. 

Gabriel Jesus's goal against Palace was his 50th goal for City but Guardiola said that 22 year old has also missed several chances during the match.

Guardiola reportedly said that Jesus is so young, missed a lot of chances. He said that his team has to be more detached. When people talk about the Champions League being the target, Team is still not ready...team can still improve, he said.

Performance of Manchester City this season

Manchester City leads the league by scoring 29 goals this season which is 7 more than Liverpool and despite criticism Guardiola says he is pleased with the forwards. Jesus was in the starting line-up for the Palace game in place of  Argentina international Sergio Aguero, who was involved in a minor car incident on his way to training on October 16.

Guardiola said that to compete with Sergio is maybe the most difficult thing but Gabriel is calm and every training session he fights like an animal but he can improve. Manchester City will host Italy's Atalanta on October 22.
