Manchester United to play Fred in injured Paul Pogba's position: Ole

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated that Fred will be replacing Paul Pogba in the midfield till the time Pogba is unavailable

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated that Fred will be replacing Paul Pogba in the midfield till the time Pogba is not completely fit and available for selection. Ole backed the Brazilian to repay his faith on the field in the upcoming matches. Solskjaer said that Pogba will not be available for selection until December due to a setback in recovering from his ankle injury.

It's time for Fred to step up

Fred has been a part of the Red Devils' playing Xl in a total of 6 Premier League games this season and has played only one full match in which Manchester United witnessed a shocking 1-0 defeat against Newcastle and the recent 1-1 draw against Liverpool. 

Ole said that there was no point talking about someone who is out injured because he will not be out there on the field and help us win matches. He further added that the world cup winner was a very creative midfielder but it was up to Fred to step up his game in order to help his team win.

The Red Devils next play against Chelsea in the round of 16 of the Carabao Cup on October 30 at Stamford Bridge. The last time, the two sides met, United thrashed Chelsea with a scoreline of 4-0 due to goals from Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Anthony Martial. Although, Solsksjaer stated that their previous result against Chelsea did not get the better of them and they will play with the same intensity as before.

Premier League record for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Meanwhile, Manchester United's £50 million summer acquisition from Crystal Palace, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, recently achieved the record for the most number of successful tackles in the Premier League, in his first season with the Red Devils. The young right-back was in his top form as United beat Norwich city 3-1 at Carrow Road on October 27 that saw the Red Devils win their third match of the season.

The 21-year-old played a key role in United's win against Norwich City, which saw them climb to the 7th position from a lowly 15th after 10 league matches. The match also saw Scottish midfielder, Scott McTominay, making sharp passes for United before scoring the first goal of the match in the 21st minute. McTominay's goal helped Manchester United to be the first team to score 2000 goals in the Premier League era.

The Red Devils continue to attempt a revival under their Norweigan Manager after a sluggish 6 years with 3 different managers since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 after a trophy-laden 26 and a half years with the Red Devils.
