Marcello Lippi: 'Allegri the best choice as Man United's next manager'

Marcello Lippi is of the opinion that Massimiliano Allegri would be the best choice as Manchester United's next manager should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer be sacked

Marcello Lippi, best known for winning the 2006 FIFA world cup with Italy, is of the opinion that former AC Milan and Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri, would be the best choice as Manchester United's next manager provided the senior United hierarchy decides to sack their current Norweigian manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

'Allegri the best choice as Manchester United's next manager'

While speaking to an international media outlet, Marcello said that Allegri would be the perfect choice as he been a long-time admirer of the Red Devils and added that he would be happy to see the coach take the managerial reigns from Solskjaer.

Marcello further added that the Red Devils have been going through a difficult time since Alex Ferguson's retirement but have an excellent backroom staff alongside an amazing set of players and a great manager. He also added that everyone knows about what it means to play for the Manchester United Crest and at the Theatre of Dreams.

Lippi said that Ole was a very good striker and is a good coach but Allegri is a professional who has the capacity to steer Manchester United in the right direction. He further added that Allegri is ready to take on the United challenge. He also said that the Italian was serious about his intentions and was well prepared about any challenge that is thrown his way.

Ole's future clouded with uncertainty

Time will tell whether United fourth manager after Alex Ferguson's retirement will have a long term future with the Red Devils or not, provided he can get Manchester United back to their winning ways. If not, then United's board will have to make a well-informed decision of hiring, Massimiliano Allegri as their next manager. Massimiliano has a total of six Serie A titles after having managed both AC Milan and Juventus. The Italian tactician's next goal will be to conquer England and establish himself as one of the best managers in present-day Europe.

United's worst start to a premier league campaign

The Red Devils have endured their worst start to a premier league season as they slumped to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in a league match was played on November 2, at the Dean Court stadium.
