Everton are through to the quarter-finals of the English FA Cup after edging out Tottenham Hotspur in a 5-4 thriller on Wednesday.

Brazilian winger Bernard fired home in the seventh minute of extra time to seal victory for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Spurs dominated the opening exchanges with Davinson Sanchez heading in from a corner in the third minute. Everton hit back hard towards half-time. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who later went off injured, levelled nine minutes before the break. Richarlison - then a penalty from Gylfi Sigurdsson - looked to have put the hosts in charge.

Erik Lamela scored in the closing seconds of the half - Sanchez levelled for Jose Mourinho's side in the 57th minute.

Richarlison put Everton back in front in the 68th minute - substitute Harry Kane made it 4-4 in the 83rd.
