Team India failed to register their first win in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign as they fell to a 0-1 defeat against higher-ranked Oman on Tuesday night. India needed all three points as they went up against Oman at the Central Republican Stadium but it was not meant to be.

After escaping an early penalty scare, India made a couple of defensive errors from Adil Khan and substitute Vinit Rai gifted Oman the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute. Al Ghassani made up for his penalty miss and scored with an assist from Mohsin Johar. From there on, Oman were happy to sit back and defend as India pushed hard for a late equaliser all throughout the second half. However, Oman kept their calm and were solid at the back despite six minutes being added in stoppage time. Here are the player ratings from the Oman vs India FIFA World Cup qualifier.
